USSSA SPRING NATIONALS

WE DID IT ! ! ! Champions of 2009 Spring Nationals @ Rio Vista Park. The Grizzlies; banged up, short handed & handicapped (Hayden), dug deep and managed to come out with two wins on Championship Sunday. The Grizzlies won a hard fought game against the Q.C. Braves in the semi-finals 6-5. A superb pitching performance by Jesse Gardiner finish by C-rod (Casey Brown) shutting them down in the 6th inning propelled the Grizzlies into the championship game where they never looked back beating the Cyclones 6-1. C-Rod came in after Micheal started the game kept the Cyclones at bay not giving up a run in 5 innings. Kelvyn Martin received the MVP Award catching in all 6 games of the tournament and going 5-6 on Sunday. FANTASTIC JOB GRIZZLIES !

Victory Ln - Tuesday night league

The Grizzlies did well. The record may not reflect it, but playing against Major/AAA teams has made us step up to the plate and work hard. Havinga lot of close games provided us to to work on alot of things (improvement in pitching & defense) to prepare for Utah and upcoming Spring Nationals.

UTAH - President's Day Tournament

What a blast. The highlight of the Grizzlie season was capped off by going to St. George Utah to play in this tournament. The boys played great. Taking 2nd place, going 6-1 only to lose in the championship game. What a superb effort by everybody; parents' players & coaches. Going up into the mountains to be in 3 feet of snow and tubing down the mountain was a highlight that the team will remember for the rest of their lives. Snowballs were flying abundantly. The weather was cold for us thin skins bears but the scenery of the snow capped mountains overlooking the field was spectacular. Grizzlies Runner-ups

Superbowl Bash

This one day tournament was just to keep us sharp. Well that didn't happen. The Grizzlies went 1-1 and fell short in advancing into the final round by allowing to many runs. Don't worry about it Grizzlies we will get them in Utah. Grrrrrrrr

MLK Tournament

MLK tournament was an exciting tournament played in Scottsdale. Coach Tom missed the Saturday games where the team went 2-0. (maybe he should stay away. JK). Sunday game were hard fought and we can see the improvement of the boys playing against stiff competetion. The game in the semi finals against the Gauchos was a great game and an indication how the team is progressing. Another good job Grizzlies for placing 3rd. Will get them next time.
